--- date: "2004-11-16T19:03:29Z" title: Interesting ruby-talk thread on RSS/Atom --- <p> <a href='http://blade.nagaokaut.ac.jp/cgi-bin/scat.rb/ruby/ruby-talk/120061'>Here's</a> an interesting thread on <a href='http://ruby-talk.org/'><code>ruby-talk</code></a> talking about the <acronym title='RDF Site Summary / Really Simple Syndication / etc'>RSS</acronym> module — which I'm not a big fan of — built-in to <a href='http://ruby-lang.org/'>Ruby 1.8.x</a>. The thread nicely illustrates the mess that is <acronym title='RDF Site Summary / Really Simple Syndication / etc'>RSS</acronym>, and why consistency (and coherency) in standards are extremely important. Interesting read. </p>
